I understand the 2 mallard limit. I've killed more black ducks in the last 10 years than mallards here in sc. What I don't understand is why the hell is there a restriction of only 3 wood ducks. They should be 6.

You highly underestimate the amount of wood ducks killed in SC annually.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I think we ought to be able to kill 6 mallards. That way, we could reduce the Mallard /Black cross breeding and help restore the Black to it's rightful place as the Atlantic flyway King.

It doesn't matter what the local magistrate thinks. If the higher ups at the DNR tell the wardens to issue federal citations(aka pink slips),.....it's out of her hands......it will be tried in federal court.

Nope. Overharvesting and a bad recruitment year or two and you have a closed season.

With rabbits, since that's your screen name,..... the population peaks in August. By the start of rabbit season(normally Thanksgiving) ninety percent are already gone. During rabbit season, you are hunting the last 10 %

I know, I read that somewhere before. Hunting the last 10% I try my best to kill every last one of them I can and every year they repopulate and are plentiful again. I believe the same would happen with the wood ducks. They are in every state and have got to be the highest population of all waterfowl. I think they nest twice a year too because I see little ducks from spring through august.

You’re a simple minded idiot and have obviously never lived in another state. Go out west and let me know how many huge “rafts” of wood ducks you find.

Does it work like that? The local DNR tells the feds what issue?

You are correct, some hens do successfully raise 2 brood in a breeding season.
