'93 GMC driver's door won't unlock

'93 GMC K1500. Driver's side truck door is locked shut and it appears the mechanics inside have broken. Door won't unlock with either the mechanical lock (both by using the key outside or trying to slide the lock mechanism inside) or the power locks. I can't get the door open to get the inside panel off or I would remove that and work from the inside of the door. Passenger side works just fine, so we can get in that way - but who wants to slide in/out the passenger side forever?!?

Anybody ever run into such and have a remedy? Locksmith says to talk to a mechanic. I know there are more than a couple on here - both shadetree and otherwise. Hep me.....

Just use the passenger door....

Or take it to KRT.....

My 98 just did this very thing 2 weeks ago. you have to wiggle the panel off and reach in the access door of the inner panel and move the lock rod manually to get the door open. It is a pain in the a**.

Weld the doors shut and take the winders out. Then you can just Dukes of Hazzard it.

So pry back on the panel as much as you can, go through where the glass is with a long screw driver (flat blade) and press down on the latch by the striker and pull on the handle at same time.... she'll open
