Yeah......no.
Yeah......no.
We cool.
So if anybody was going to work on mine, it would be John Lewis at CPR in Jackson. He is the standard when it comes to getting No1's to shoot reliably. As I understand it, most of the issue with them is the screw in the forend and how it attaches at an angle. Pretty sure it puts the barrel in a bit of a bind and he works that over to take that away. That being said, I'm lucky that my dad's .270 No.1 shoots handloads just fine and I can't bring myself to jack with it for potentially marginal accuracy improvements.
John did some work to my wood stocked m77 MarkII 25-06 and it shoots better than I can. I put a Timney in it and floated the barrel myself and it's a dream to shoot with both factory and handloads.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Is he still around?

I just bought a Weatherby so I wouldn’t have to worry about fixing it so I could hit a target.
If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
