    Default Tapatalk and battery life?

Has anyone noticed the most recent Tapatalk putting a serious drain on your phone battery?

I researched it a little online and apparently people on other forums are complaining.

It’s supposedly something to do with their ads.

I fully charged my phone, closed all apps, used Tapatalk to view SCDUCKS for 20 min and was down to 50% battery. This is with a relatively new iPhone.

I e used Tapatalk for years and never had this happen.

Wow that’s a lot of drainage! I don’t use tapatalk so no useful input but that’s crazy!

I just updated mine yesterday and seems to be back to normal. Before that my phone was dropping 10% battery every minute and the phone would feel like 140°

I have the ad free and can’t keep my battery charged. It also feels like it my spontaneously combust.

Updated the app. I’m reluctant to update iOS anymore with a 4 year old phone

Get a new phone or put a battery in it. Been there.

Yes, Tapatalk does put some serious drain on a battery. I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 and while I'm not experiencing the drain some of you iTards are seeing, it's still a significant force. When I put the phone down and stop reading, I close the Tapatalk app altogether.

Wait till tomorrow evening and I’ll give you a screenshot that involves more Tapatalk. I was on GAIA GPS along the state line in Greenville county running a track most of the day and I forgot to charge the phone last night. I didn’t bother with airplane mode and the signal sucks up there when you’re following creeks. I did find an old still though.

I have also seen where iphones will get some sort of glitch in the memory and drain the battery quickly. It does not usually involve a particular app though. To fix that you do the soft reset, if a 7 or higher hold the power button and the down volume button until it shuts off and starts a reboot. Had to do that to my wife's phone and father in law's.
