I had the tough choice of a deer stand or fishing this morning as I figured both would be good with this colder weather. Ultimately I chose the extra hour of sleep and decided to poke around some back creeks on the morning low with the fly rod and found plenty of fish. Ended up with 8 fish all in less than 3 ft of water on fly for about 2.5 hours of actual fishing. There was still plenty of bait in the creek and the fish were very active preferring a fast retrieve.
Poling and fly fishing solo is a challenge especially with a dog in the boat. I only got to take about 1/3 of the shots I had but still no complaining here!
