    Default FL Snipe opener

Lots of walking. Missed a few and shot a few. Saw more birds at the end of September while dove hunting than are down here right now. Oh well, not too bad for a quick afternoon hunt.20191101_181756.jpg

I love shooting those down there. It’s crazy how crowded the marsh has become with people snipe hunting in Florida.

Never knew it was a big thing down there.

Been shooting them up here for years. Most people look at you funny when you ask if they wanna go.

You ride the main river channels and see a few groups in the pastures. Lots of spent hula on the ground. It’s actually crowded enough that it’s a good idea to wear orange.

Tman, you been living down that way for awhile? I used to go out solo when I was living down that way bc none of my buddies had any desire. My success rate was not spectacular

I absolutely love to hunt those frail little bastards. Jumping them up like pheasants is just plain fun and the fact that a single pellet zinging passed them will kill them stone cold dead without cutting a feather is a plus. Killed many on Okeechobee mud flats before stalking hogs.

About a year and a half. This is my second season hunting them in South FL. Last year I did pretty good too.

We shot the shit out of them in HS. I had access to a big dairy south of Orange Park and we walked them up along ditches in wet pastures. Fine eating little game bird.

If those things taste anything like woodcock, they ain't worth shooting.

Tman do you do any duck hunting down there at all? I was in West Palm last week playing in the old man baseball World Series and we stayed in a house on one of the canals. Saw an ass of Mottled Ducks every afternoon while sitting on the dock.

Little bit. There's mostly mottled ducks, teal, and black bellies
