    My Dad and Uncle were the first set of caucasian twins born on Kodiak while my Grandfather was stationed there pre-WWII. After 12/7/41 all civilians were evacuated from the base with the exception of my Grandmother because traveling that close to the due date would be dangerous for the babies. Pretty much as soon as she gave birth they put her and the boys on a ship and got them back to CONUS.

    AFAIK Phil lake and Jack lake haven't been renamed.

    It is on my bucket list to visit.

    Thatís a cool story. Iíd say this is probably them, and it would be doubtful they changed the name. Most lakes there are named for their elevation because there are so many.
