    I'd love to have a 150 hp tiller on my 24' ark, not for the speed, just to get rid of the console and give me a bit more room.

    That is not a regulation- only a recommendation- 20' and under you usually can't insure if powered beyond the MFG max recommended HP- over 20 run what you want.

    I see about a 17 Bass Tracker aluminum boat around here every once in a while that has a 300 on it. Looks like it's used for some type of work.
