Also, the two things more important than the brand are:

    1. A hydrostatic transmission

    2. Adjustable wheel spacing.

Alot of smaller tractors don't have those options..

Unless they are a lot different I wouldn’t own a whining hydro..

The last couple that I know people bought wasn’t much off brand new price and tires were 3/4 gone from all the highway miles on them.

I have had a regular shift, a shuttle shift and now a hydro. The hydro is the best of all of them hands down. I don't know what u guys are whining about. Pat's Quick Hitch is okay.

Good to know. Program pricing may have changed over the years.

I may be confusing that with a shuttle transmission. I'm talking a forward and reverse on the column separate from the high/low shift and the 1-4 shift.

It's what works best for box blade work.

If tractors had genders, a hydrostatic would be a female

And if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.

If you ain’t dragging a plow through a field all day and you are doing hobby stuff like 95% of us on here a hydrostatic will be fine

I’ve been beating back the jungle the last two weeks on our JD 6125 with the ditch bank cutter. I’d have kicked a box full of puppies if I had to do all the back and forth I’m doing without a shuttle shift.

    Default Tractor?

Which one you want to try? I’ve got bigger if needed and one 65hp not pictured

    Seriously, IMO

JD - dealer support, sizing options and reliability

55-70hp - I hate undersizing. Get what you need plus 10-15hp. Big can always running smaller, opposite doesn’t work. Stay under 75hp if going new.

Go 6-7ft on all attachments - you want to be 1-2ft wider than the tractor to catch edges and have clearance

Powershift tranny - to hell with hydro, no where near the power output engine to trans to the ground. Get a power shift and it works just as well and more reliable long term
