I think it’s a travesty of the highest magnitude.
Effectively green lighting the slaughter of our best ally in the region. Again.

    Hearts & Minds ...

    Yesterday Mujahdeen = today’s Taliban.
    History repeats.

I see now more clearly why Maj Gen Mattis left.
“The best ally in the region”

We have fought there since 1991 and nothing is better.

Nothing. Not a single fucking thing.

The sole strategic intent of Trump’a syria policy was to smash ISIS. That strategic point is over.

OAF nation has been triggered since Mattis resigned.

The War partys and their media are not getting continuous war and they are upset. Meanwhile Russia and China continue to press on with their strategic goals.

Shit holes are gonna be shitholes.

We should be pulling out of Iraq, Afghan, and Somalia. Tonight...that’s pure fact.

What are the Kurds helping us with? What strategic purpose do they serve?

Unless the Turks start ethnically cleansing them I am not sure I have a problem with Trump’a move.

Mattis had transgender recruits shipping to bootcamp.

I cannot look at a father, mother, sister, brother, son or daughter, and tell them what their kid or spouse died for after Jan 2001 in Afghan. Iraq was the single biggest fuckup of our time.

    I don't disagree X 100.
But I feel like once you make a mess, you have to clean it up best one can before you pop smoke or you create a worse situation.
Yes its time to leave those places, I just hate to see good people like the Kurds lied to and hung out to dry. Not the first time the US has done something like this...
Jokes on THEIR dumbasses for believing US politicians asking for their help I guess...

Also - it has become clear'er to me why the Trump admin has such a high turnover rate. These folks are hanging their professional reputations out there based on promises they are told to make and then made to look like fools when the rug get snatched out from under them. None of us would work for a boss like that for long. All in the name of America first! Which has the markets up so hell yeah jump on over to the private sector and make some money.

It seems to me that if 50 Americans were the only thing stopping Turkey from stomping the Kurds, our guys were there as human shields.

Turkey is not dumb enough to kill off 50 US advisors as collateral damage to curb stomping the Kurds.

They know what kind of response would ensue from the US. Attacking a NATO "ally'?

Now that those SOF guys are out of there - the Turks will cleanse them.

We need to be out of there and as long as we are there there will always be some reason not to leave. Its the nature of the ME. Get out and launch a missile if we feel we need to . . .

If the Kurds start getting ethnically cleansed I will have more of an issue.

Disappointed that no one has brought up the "nuke em all" option. You guys are slipping.

Nah they wont take it that far. There will be 3 or 4 factions (one of which will be ISIS) once again in a years time killing each other at the cyclic rate in an unending round robin match. Just like before we "helped" - I actually enjoyed watching all those muslims kill each other on flunker & YouTube. It was like Amateur Hour meets Mad Max.
