    Default Trump double crosses Kurds

I have been expecting a thread to pop up here on the topic of Trump double crossing the Kurds, haven’t seen it, maybe I missed it? He doesn’t deserve a pass on this.

    But what are yalls thoughts?
I think it’s a travesty of the highest magnitude.
Effectively green lighting the slaughter of our best ally in the region. Again.

I see now more clearly why Maj Gen Mattis left.

I'm no expert on the dynamics of that region. We only had 150 troops there. Does it really only take 150 of our troops to deter an invasion. Where is the UN on this? Shouldn't they step in the deploy peacekeepers to the region? Why is the US the only military force that seems to bear the burden? France? Germany? England?

Why are these questions not being asked in the media? Or is this just another reason to bash Trump?

Can we stop importing those shitty Turkish shotguns now?

If Trump is elected he will crash the economy.

If he's elected he will cause a nuclear war.

    Trump is racist.

Trump want to kill all Hispanics.

    Trump colluded with Russia.

Trump forced Ukraine to investigate Biden.

Why in the name of all that's sane do some of you folks listen to this MSM crap. I trust the Onion, the Babylon Bee and SNL more than the idiots MSM lying communists. Some of you are proof that Operation Mockingbird was a total success.

I saw this on another board and it think it goes to the heart of the matter.

The Kurds have been training Antifa fighters in Northern Syria under our protection and it is coming to light. Our boys have bled for the Kurds, but no Kurds would ever been for us so it should end.

I watched a training video that was posted online yesterday showing the training with an English speaking narrator.

I don't pretend to know enough about it. I'm sure fighting along side those guys will change things a lot but I thought we are hated in the region because of our presence there. That's what the libs told us over & over again. Oh, and if we love on the goat humpers, they'd love us back. Now, that we want to move out, it's the worst thing ever. I've come to realize, if it upsets the media & politicians, it's probably the correct move.

    Trump simply called Erdogen's bluff.

If you look into it, there are two distinct groups of Kurds (like all middle eastern tribes they're divided). One group is a communist/socialist group that has been a recognized terrorist organization for nearly 40 years and the other is the group that fought with US forces in Iraq, Syria (and probably quietly in Iran). The troops that pulled out were not supporting the later of these two groups, more likely they were forward deployed keeping an eye on the communist faction.

I posted something similar to this on another forum. The major problem over there is they need to be ruled. They cannot "self govern" like a lot of Western Civilizations. They need a dictator who governs by fear of mass atrocities. The more we "help" the more things get fucked up. Unless we want to go over there with the mindset we are going to publicly cut off pows heads and kill women and children by smashing their skills with our boots, then ruling them as a dictator, or we need to stay out. By "liberating" them all we do is pave the way for the next bad guy.

I bet you, those people do not even know why they hate each other anymore. That region is so fucked up that genocide is going to be the only real cute. When there is only 1 tribe left then there will be piece over there. But if it is the wrong one, they will just eat with someone else. Basically, fuck em. We cannot fix it, let them sort it out

Media Guy nailed it. There are several factions of Kurds, not all of which are our buddies. That said, this all boils down to whether you want to be a country of nation builders or a country that takes care of it's own people and it's own affairs. I prefer the latter as did George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

    Washington's Farewell Address 1796:
"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it; for let me not be understood as capable of patronizing infidelity to existing engagements. I hold the maxim no less applicable to public than to private affairs, that honesty is always the best policy. I repeat it, therefore, let those engagements be observed in their genuine sense. But, in my opinion, it is unnecessary and would be unwise to extend them."

    Jefferson's First Inaugural Address 1801:
"Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none..."

We should back off the Kurds and weigh our options for now.

Not sure where you got your information but it’s wrong. They were/are real allies. We asked them for help, not the other way around. They’ve lost over 10k people fighting ISIS. Those US troops were there to support and advise. They were also holding over 10,000 ISIS fighters.

Now these people have been left to be slaughtered.
God forbid if some of you end up with a moral choice that involves other people’s lives.

Unfortunately there are those kinds of moral choices all over the world. We cannot fix the ME, why spend our resources and American lives over it? We can't fix everything everywhere and we have our own issues that need fixing. I'm fine getting out of the ME at this point, just wish we would get completely out.

There’s only One who can fix the ME and the rest of the world for that matter. When He comes back it’ll get settled but until then we need to clear out of most of it other than backing Isreal.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Our involvement hasn't exactly helped that area much. I'm guessing those peeps from Iraq would welcome back the days when Saddam was in power.

If we don't leave now, then when? Do we stay forever? We've been there in some form or fashion for almost 30 years now. Around 7,000 soldiers killed & God knows how many injured. Then the $6 trillion or so spent.
