Seems that effort to silence the driver might be more effective to reduce overall noise..

Or get a pioneer. They aren't quiet, but they're not as bad as gators or a polaris.

Mine is an 07 also. And you’re right it is pretty quiet on its own.

I prefer a regular cab Toyota Tacoma with a muffler, heat, AC, locking hubs, super swamper mud tires, and a winch.
Quiet, warm, goes anywhere, street legal, less cost than a Ranger.

    A) I doubt you’re driving your utv to work.

    B) if you are, who cares how loud it is.

    C) being chunky and lazy has a price. For you it’s loud muffler on your too lazy to walk mobile.

Oh, and my suggestion is to hose clamp some corrugated drain pipe over the muffler and run the open end into the cab with you that way the noise stays in there.

I am in no way defending Lab but I have always wondered why cars can be made to run so quietly but vehicles designed for hunting are deemed acceptable even though they are as loud as lawn equipment. I've had a silencer muffler on my ATV and now can't stand for it to get slightly loose. I've shied away from moving to a sxs mostly because they are so damn loud. Why can't car mufflers be used on UTV's?

Don't get me started on those damn Harley Davidsons. That's where Glenn's idea about corrugated pipe in most applicable. A pipe straight from the exhaust port to an earhole in the helmet should make everybody happy.
