I use crushed tomatoes, a can of tomato paste, a can or two of diced tomatoes with green chilies, smoked sausage, and some butter. You can also add a little sugar to cut down on the acidity of the tomatoes. Use the recommended amount of water to rice. Put all ingredients in a pot (except rice), and simmer for a little while, then bring to a good boil. Add rice, cover, reduce heat, and wait about 30 minutes. Also, salt and pepper to taste.
I will add that I prefer to cook it in an oven. If your pot can go in the oven, do everything as stated above, but put in the preheated oven once you add the rice. Oven temp of 275 for 1 hour.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is,
as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
