Inasmuch as she has Asperger's Syndrome, I rather doubt she'll ever realize it. I suspect she's going to grow up just the way she is now, especially since she's got all of these adults feeding her the sacrificial lines that she believes. Anything to the contrary is what throws her into more tantrums as her mind can't handle it.
At least that's the way I understand the syndrome.

That child has FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). Her facial features are a dead giveaway. FAS is like Downs Syndrome, you can't hide it. The FAS also answers for the autism and the depression.
