The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is,
as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Thunder and lightning all around the house yesterday evening. Still not a drop of rain here in Gilbert.

We officially hit 101 degrees yesterday. An all time record high for September. Exit 5 will get it, but damn if I don't have a bubble over my house.

Haven't seen a dark cloud in over a month in northeast Mississippi.

“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”

There are no pretty falls colors this year. The leaves are just shriveling up, turning brown, and falling.

It’s not the heat so much that bothers me. It’s the lack of rain right now. Need it bad! Sprinkler system can’t keep up with the yard
