I got to thinking about China's threat to limit rare earth elements a while back during the trade war saga. So I found a few videos.

This one will explain rare earth elements rather well.

But one constant thing that kept coming up was the environmental damage. Some of it is from China. Now if China is concerned about the environment it got me thinking, it must be bad! Turns out it is. There is a entire lake in Mongolia it made from the sludge pumped out of several refining plants. They literally dump the crap out back. But this is were we get our phones and other electronics from. I've said it before we clean up our mess far better than anyone else in the world. It isn't us that pollutes, its the rest of the world. Us banning plastic straws is stupid when 90% of the oceans plastic trash originates from China or Africa.

Take a look at the US plant in the first video, and then check out this Chinese plant!
