    Default CD Stuck in Player

My hunting buddy asked me yesterday if there was a simple way to remove a CD that’s stuck in his dash player. He believes it may be the source of the power drain that as eaten three batteries in recent months as the mechanics can find no cause for the problems.

Any ideas on how to get this CD out without having to remove the player and/or dash? I believe he’s got a 2006 Chevy truck, but don’t recall the model.

    Thanks.

Don’t know of an easy way to remove it but has he not done a parasitic drain test on the battery with a meter?

Use another CD to press down from the top of the one stuck. Should only have to stick another CD in about halfway.

I had an 06 Chevy. It went through a battery eating phase, Along with a every other problem possible (pos GM products). Anyhow, they found it draining from the illumination in the dash - even though all the lights were not working. Entire new dash cluster fixed it.

I also believe I had a CD stuck in the dash when that quit working.

He’s had the truck in for service multiple times and each time ‘they’ claim to have found the problem... but it comes back orcontinues.

Interesting idea. Will pass that on today. Thanks.

wiz, I’ll tell him that. I would think ‘they’ could isolate the cluster and test for current drain... couldn’t they?

As for all the other ideas, they are similar to what I suggested to him yesterday while we were working on stands. He didn’t buy into them, although he would like a newer truck.

Use a magnet. Might can borrow one from Drduck. He used it to get his skeg back off the bottom.

This, there is nothing you can’t fix with a hammer.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Use a bugle (Rexcraft) but reverse the air flow by placing the bugle against the cdrom and sucking
