Joe Burrow jumps Trevor Lawrence in updated Heisman Trophy odds

We heard plenty of offseason buzz about LSU’s new offense but the Tigers had plenty of doubters heading into the season. Who could blame them? LSU has been discussing open up the offense for nearly a decade but now that the modern offense has arrived in Baton Rouge, the results have been spectacular.

There’s no better sign of that than looking at BetOnline’s updated Heisman Trophy odds.

    00:13

Believe it or not, following the first three weeks of the season, Joe Burrow has better Heisman odds than Trevor Lawrence,*according to BetOnline.

In three games this season, Burrow is completed over 83 percent of his passes for 1,122 yards with 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions. In that same time, Lawrence has is completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 831 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

Here is an updated look at the latest Heisman Trophy odds released by BetOnline:

    Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama 2/1

    Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma 3/1

    Joe Burrow, QB, LSU 4/1

    Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson 15/2

Justin Fields, QB Ohio State 10/1

    Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia 14/1

    Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon 18/1

    Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas 18/1

    Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin 20/1

    D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia 33/1

    Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama 33/1

    Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson 33/1

Ian Book, QB, Notre Dame 50/1

    Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan 66/1

Hurts or Burrow. Oklahoma could have 3 in a row.

    I think that's fair.

Big fan of Hurts, but if he wins, it's further proof that the Heisman ain't about the best player. He'd be the third OU QB to win in three years, NONE of whom could win (or keep) the starting gig at their first schools.

It’s the system and the defenseless Big12.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Right now between Hurts and Tua

Gonna be hard for Tua not to win it but Hurts can put up some video game type numbers where he plays

If so may Bentley will transfer there next year and try for 4 in a row for OK 😂

Hate to say this but L Jackson earned it that year based on the time of year the votes were submitted. Now IF it were done after the CFP DW would have won it hands down.

Those votes should not be taken until final snap of season but again it is watered down for TV spot in December

In the end rather have a Natty than a Heisman, ask U5C how that feels

Well, TL still has time but his chances aren’t looking good this year. Though I’m pretty sure that’s not the Tiger’s goal.

And Clemson had the Heisman for three straight years in 1900-1903.

That and Petrino leaving him in against the Sisters of the Poor when they were up by 70 to pad stats.
