Default Flats Fishing in St John

Anyone have any recommendations? I'm having a hard time finding flats guides for bonefish, tarpon and the like. Thanks in advance.

St Johns is a bit north for bones isn't it? I've know a guy in Titusville that runs to the keys to fish for bones. I never heard of the area being special for tarpon either. Mosquito Lagoon is pretty notorious for big redfish though.

I assumed St Johns river near Titusville. Oops.

Yeah, that got me a few times while Googling. No "s" in the island, "s" in the river.

I would be willing to bet that guide has got some spinning rods as well.

Yeah, most fly guides guide spinning too. They may even enjoy the break from avoiding clousers zooming by their heads

There's a St. John and a St. John's on the island of Anitgua too.

Looking at the St John Island in the USVI on GoogleEarth, it doesn't appear to have much in the way of flats. They probably still have some bones and tarpon but it might not be sight fishing.

Leinster bay has a flat that can hold bonefish. Certain other areas have mangroves that will hold snook. Tarpon are everywhere you would and would not expect to see them. The Leinster Bay flat is the one everyone reads about on the internet and every tourist goes to.

If you come back down and want to fish, shoot me an email.
