Got rid of my mountain bike years ago.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Done. We finished just under 8 1/2 hours. We could have gone faster but played it conservative not really knowing what we'd need in the tank for those last few miles. This was a tough run that saw a lot of good and experienced trail runners quit or drop out after 10-15 miles. So for me as a novice trail runner, finishing this thing was huge. My wife and I ran and finished together. She's incredible. Good friend of mine from Alabama came up and ran it with us. Triathlete and Ironman finisher. He finished just under 7 hours at 51 years old.

That’s cool. Congratulations. Doing it together has to make it better. Hell, something’s gotta be chasing me before I run anywhere.
Did you use lowcarb/keto to fuel during the race as well? Well Done so.
Good question. Ate my normal breakfast of bacon/eggs early that morning. Had some tangerines and a banana at the turns of the laps. Other than that just electrolytes in my water bladder while on the trail. Being fat adapted helps keep energy levels steady. No highs, lows or "bonks". Legs were tired but felt fantastic otherwise.
Congrats and well done!
Congrats !!
Congrats! What was the victory meal?
Good to have proof that carb loading is bogus. Quite the accomplishment.
Nice work! I
have only recently started running again and am doing 2-3miles 3x/week right now. Even at my peak years ago I was running 5 miles routinely 3-4 days a week (ravenel bridge) with I believe 7-8 miles on flat ground (francis marion) being my max. For the first tine ever I am kind of wanting to do a half marathon. More so as a goal to keep pushing myself and sticking with it I guess but also think it would be a good personal accomplishment and my health would clearly benefit.
