Sad to hear. We had about 35 MPH winds. Was worried that the all day rain before the winds would loosen the soil It might have helped that we no till planted.

The vote that required a spine that day was voting to remove the flag. Christians are often ridiculed and persecuted for following Christ's teachings.

Most of our corn is standing in Greeleyville, a lot of the sunflowers are bent over.

What verse(s) acted as a source of inspiration for you to vote to take it down?

This is scducks. The one constant is that threads will rarely stay on topic.

as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

You’re the only one who thinks God and the flag have anything to do with each other.

I don’t care how you voted. But your statement below is an intelligent deflection to avoid further discussion and criticism. Which means you are probably fairly good at being a politician.

In two sentences you effectively absolved yourself by shifting responsibility for your decisin to Christ, personally elevated yourself and your position to that of a martyr, and labeled anyone who questions you or your decisions as an enemy of the Christian faith. Which is pretty smart.

I don’t know you. I’m sure you are a good person. But religious armor isn’t a substitute for honest debate or taking ownership for your actions. Quite the opposite. Honesty may not help your political career but it will get you some respect.

If you did what your constituents wanted and thought was right, that’s all you need to say. You weakened your position by feeling the need to defend it. You allowed the rest of the chickenshits to pile on.

    .
He’s pretty good at it. He’s the one who used God as his defense for his vote, but he tries to get me to explain my reason for opposing him by using his own argument, which, if I did, would be conceding that his argument is valid, which it isn’t and would shift the debate from whitewashing history, to who loves Jesus more.
