    Default Leyland Cypress Disease/Dead Limbs

Any leyland cypress poets on here?

I have a row of them that borders a property line and were here before we owned the place. The majority of them are in great shape but some of them are showing what seems to be disease. Lower level branches are dieing and the trees aren't growing as well as the others. These also don't get near the sun that the others do.

Is there anything I can apply on them?

Same here.....it's a slow death fungus.

There some fungus resistance varieties out there now.

Bagworms I suspect. Once you notice them it's almost too late.... Cut down, pile, and burn. Replant with crytomeria japonica. Thank me later

Bag worms got some of mine a couple years ago. You must be on the lookout for them before they make bags. damage is usually done by then. what fro siad...

Leylands do have a problem with canker and bagworns. Someone suggested cryptomeria which is a better plant. The problem with eastern red cedar is they are hard to produce commercially with a uniform variety due to their genetics being so unique to individual plants.
