    Default Ceiling fan?

Got a ceiling fan in the bedroom that has 2 switches on the wall. 1 switch for fan other for lights. Turnt it on the other night and all 3 bulbs inside made a sizzling sound for a split second then went out. Screwed a new bulb in and wouldn’t work. Fan part still works. Do I need a new fan or is there something I’m can jiggle or blow dust off of and make it work again?

I’d kill the breaker to the fan and drop the light fixture down. It sounds like you shorted something out either via a loose wire connection or the switch in the housing went bad (on/off switch with the chain).

Assuming it’s the on/off switch that went bad, you can just replace it if you don’t see any other burnt wires.

P.S. I am not an electrician, so use my suggestion at your own peril.

Should I stick my foot in a bucket of water while I’m doing this?

Switch might have gone bad, especially if it’s a dimmer. Honestly if that’s not it, by the time you find a light fixture to fit the fan or track down a remedy if it’s in the wiring harness, you can replace the fan. These days I wire to one switch and put them on a remote.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
