That is so neat to look at. I never had any idea that a bit of prospecting could be done like that.

    Good for y'all!

I saw at the Smithsonian a huge gold nugget that was found in Spartanburg County.

I wish I had all of the time back that I watched Gold Fever. For some reason, when it comes on I become transfixed. Any chance you found that coin in the creek? MG

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Lol @ sportn. I have found enough for a few fillings but not a grill. one day if im lucky.

MG, yes. I found the 1940 french coin in the creek. it was sotting perfectly flat on pile of rocks the dredge screens out. got lucky. ran out of gas, and happened to see it before it was buried again.

I wouldn't mind putting that setup in the creek on my hunt club for a couple hours one day

Most of the WMA rules Ive seen say you cannot remove ecofacts or artifacts. I'm thinking gold would be an ecofact? I had to get a federal permit to pick morels on WMA land and to cut firewood off a huge white oak that fell over next to a road on WMA. I cant imagine they will be ok with gold dredging, that said . . .I always wanted to try it

I think they do prefer that you get a permit. Or that's what I've gathered from the little bit of info from my co-worker.

We have a small creek behind our house, and a relatively big creek in front. We have access to about 1000' of it. Apparently people used to just dump trash in it years and years ago ... My wife found out, and one of her hobbies now is to dig out old glass, plates, ceramics, etc. from the creek bed. Some of it's cool, most of it's trash (to me at least, not here). If I showed her this she would probably have rig set up by next week.
