In my eyes this would equate to having the proper safety gear, among other things. When I leave the jetties there is an epirb, spot, and PLB on board. Normally a handheld waterproof vhf and a sat phone. Not worth taking a chance.

Very Sad story, hope they are found safe but not looking good.

They could easily be found drifting off Ga or SC anytime now. There is hope

If they didn't even have a VHF, wonder how much water they took?

I have a friend that was the sole survivor of three after an incident 38 miles off the Myrtle Beach, SC coast. Two were eaten by sharks. 3.5 days in the water before being rescued.

Those boys will need a miracle if they are afloat.

He doesn't even swim in a pool anymore.

I'd say that is encouraging if true. Hope they find them - alive.

Hope that’s true. It seems odd to have a life raft on a 24’ boat, but I certainly hope that’s them.

Not to derail but I googled your friend and found his instagram/twitter page and followed the link in his bio to the article and it doesn't say anybody was eaten by sharks?

Fingers crossed for these guys. Have been watching THT very closely the last few days.

19WL is a badass airplane. Having flown a few night missions with DNR, in the old Cessnas, I would love to give that one a go...

Yep. Everything I just read about Keith says they all survived and none were eaten.

And I'm only going off this article... https://www1.cbn.com/700club/keith-k...-perfect-storm

Why y'all trying to fuck up Nitro's badass story?

Apparently the CH erroneously reported a life raft...

Well, he has changed the ending of the story as he recounted it to me... I guess he's still trying to have the movie made.. LOL!!!

Damn sad, checked this on THT before I left office and reports of a life raft or something but get home an false alarms sounds like

One guy on THT is missing soul’s BIL.

    Prayers to all

No need to say it now but you can not be TOO CAREFUL or TOO PREPARED when offshore. Gets ugly in a hurry out there

Guess some things you will never understand, 1 guy is a fireman and you would think he of all people would be overly cautious

Bucky has retired.... bad ass pilot. We had him at SLED for a long time before he went to DNR.

Do y’all remember the teens that went out of Sullivan’s island in a sailboat? They were at sea for six days with no food and water? I’m still having a little hope. I just joined THT to follow along and the BIL just posted he had to let the kids know daddy isn’t coming home. How heartbreaking. Guys , please pray aggressively and intentionally!
