I shoot 28” modified with high brass 7.5’s in my 1969 beater humpback. I dont have cripples or blow feathers out. For quail and rabbits i theow on the 26” ic barrel.

IC. Pattern both of them. I think you will be surprised with the results.

I'm like Phoneman. I like mod because I'm more likely to either kill them or completely miss them. I hate knocking the pajamas off a bird only to see him fly out of the field. Some of the close birds get burgered though.

If the gun has choke tubes, I love IC/IM for snipe and dove and I used to use that combination for ducks until high-speed steel came out. I worry that IM might be a little tight for big, fast steel shot.

    To answer your question, this^^^^

If you're torn, buy a Pure Gold 15 and throw your factory chokes away. The PG's pattern noticeably better than the factory extended chokes in Brady's A300 Sporting. He runs a 15 most of the time, switches to a 5 on occasion if they're close

They screw in. Take both. If your getting lots of close shots have the ic in. If further out then change to mod. Only takes a min. Don’t over think it.

There's no reason to switch around chokes, this is all silly. Don't be weak and inefficient.

Seems like a good time to remind people that Improved Modified is between a Modified and Full. Light Mod is between improved and modified.

Seen a couple people get confused on that.

If you don't know how your choke preforms then you've got bigger problems.

It also depends on which location you get in the dove field. Sometimes the doves fly right over you, and at other locations they regularly swing 30-40 yds farther away. Not everyone gets the primary box seat(s).
