Turkeys- because of the interaction and close quarters
Ducks -because of the fellowship and cold (when we are lucky)
Doves - for the fellowship and they are tasty
there is not a thing wrong with 3 woodies a day!!!
Doves and Ducks are pretty much in line..
Quail second, it's not like I'm killing the shit out of wild quail either.. shooting those release boogers the few times I've done it makes me a little sad inside.
I still can't get fired up about turkeys.
Turkeys - when actually on a bird
Quail - the dogs, the flush, etc
Doves - fun
Ducks - whenever invited
Ducks that need to be worked to a call
Specks
Other ducks

Winter dove hunting makes me happy.
I do like shooting doves in the winter. The few times I have shot doves in a snow storm were right sporty.

Yep. Can't really beat it.
I like a good wood duck shoot. Sunrise over the prairies is a sight that shouldn't be missed, doesn't matter if you're after ducks or that chinese cackler with his lavish feathers. The smell of pluff mud and salt and the first fat bluebill of December isn't a bad place to be either. Watching a big fat canada smack the snow dusted grounds of Maryland's eastern shore has always been more than alright with me. And there are plenty more places and species I could name but I would probably give all of them up to go back and live out the memories of stories told by my grandfather and his dogs hunting quail. I really hate I missed it and I'd like to punch all of you ole timers in the mouth for letting them get gone.

I am truly thankful for the few days I can shoot some teal, get a good tide to shoot marshens, then go listen to football in a dove field. Sept 27th and 28th line up just fine for that.
Looks like the field prep/maintenance for doves is a pretty involved process. Is that the case for others types of birds as well?

Teals
Quail
Doves
It's just hard for me to find something poetic about scope hunting a silly bird that walks around.
