    Default Dove numbers

I checked our field yesterday. Barring a catastrophic tropical event, this season is looking really good.

My hunting partner checked ours yesterday and called me almost “giddy” there were so many birds.

Still couple weeks away but he said our small field was loaded and lot of groups of 20-30 birds coming over at a time

What I've observed during the day is that the field has major bird activity from 6am to about 930am and from 430 pm or so till dark. In between during the hot part do the day the field is vacant.(unless its cloudy or raining).

It has been crazy for me. I seem to have them and then I don't. Then they show up again. It isn't like they are coming on any pattern. I wonder what these next few days of overcast and "cooler" weather will do?

Our numbers aren’t looking great, there are a few other fields pretty close to ours and we’re kicking around the idea of maybe 4 or 5 of us being down there in case the birds start coming in off other fields.

Should we make diurinal be the word of the day? It would save me some space in my notebook.
