Yeah we’re in the same boat. Pun intended with how wet our field is. It won’t be dry enough to cut all of our food before the season runs out.

Going to try again tomorrow. I saw about 75 on the power line and a few small flocks flying around the field.

Pic taken yesterday morning. The standing corn close/under that powerline was just recently bush hogged.
Food everywhere under that powerline, I counted 2 birds sitting on it yesterday
A month and a half ago, I could count 200 most anytime.
Going to check it this afternoon and tomorrow and see if worth dragging my stool out there.
This place usually always has birds and has dove clubs very near by

We walked out into the field at 2:00 pm and jumped about 300 birds. They didn't come back.

Yep they are feeding quickly from
11:00 to 1:00 in that period. Once a day and they ain't eating long.

I was thinking they were on the ground out there, I usually jump a bunch when walking to the powerline.
Going to hit it in the next day or two

I was hoping to see a surge of birds in my dove field last weekend caused by hungry local birds that found their favorite deer corn pile was depleted. No such luck. There goes another theory on bird movement.

I'm still seeing a decent amount of birds. They are acting like late season birds though, in and out, feeding early.. The birds I cleaned yesterday were full of all sorts of food.

Lots of doves. Very few hunters to keep them stirred up.
