We had three people show up to hunt Saturday. We had more birds than we’d had most of first season but that’s not saying much. Hopefully we pick up some more by Friday.

We're still holding a large number of birds. I hope they stick until 12/28. We still have a ton of food.

Plenty of food and no birds. I saw more birds feeding under sweetgums the past few weeks than I have seen on any field in the area.

I've still got a lot of standing sunflowers, corn and a lot of unsprouted wheat left from the "planting" I did at the end of November. Very few birds. Very few. The mice, rats and tweety birds are having a feast but the doves just haven't come back after the middle of the second split. I keep hoping a swarm will show up on every weather front but they just aren't there.

Right around New Year's and towards the end of the month is when we typically see more birds. I love shooting winter birds more than most things in life

Has anyone got any birds? My field is drowning in food but almost zero birds. I'm not going to have an opportunity to hunt it until the last couple days of the season so I'm contemplating mowing everything down.
