Another tidbit. placing the hand farther out on the forend increase the speed of your swing. Closer in to the forend slows it down.

Education on any subject is good.........However a lot of dummies prefer to remain that way.
I've never had a shooting instructor tell me to move my hand around on the forearm to adjust for my swing speed. Did you invent that technique?

Newby here. Could you explain this moving the hands things in more detail to increase the speed of swing? Do you move them whilst you swing the gun?

You have to master holding it sideways or gangster style before you can move into more complex techniques.

I did have a guy tell me to point down the barrel with my left hand. When I remember to do it, I think it helps.

    mornings and evenings.

I've never patterned a shotgun, nor do I use fancy shells.

My model 12 performed flawlessly yesterday. Granted, i have a bum shoulder and kinda have to hold the forearm a little differently so that must've helped....

No. Gil Ash instructor of the OSP shotgun training school teaches that. He teaches how to shoot skeet and sporting clays. Stand to reason though. You get more torque(movement) on a wrench the farther out you grip it on the handle.

Is this the same Gil Ash that shot an average of 74% in 2018?

    Oh damn.....

Not to side track the thread, but in typical SC Ducks fashion-

I prefer Will Fennell or Dan Carlisle for instruction ... now those two can fix things. FYi, We have new ownership at our local favorite clays resort over here across the river - Cherokee Rose. Going to shoot a few rounds over there soon.

Moving your forward hand to regulate your swing speed was certainly unknown information to me.

FYI this is wrong. The farther out on the forend you grip the gun gives you more muzzle control. The closer to the reciever you grip the forend gives you more more speed.

    This seems like simple physics.
