Clemson's football program self-reports several NCAA violations
Turns out Dabo Swinney’s program has been playing outside the lines in recent months.
Clemson has officially announced that the program has self-reported several violations to the NCAA dating back to July of 2018. According to Matt Connolly of The State, the Tigers have reported 13 NCAA violations. According to the AP, Clemson has confirmed at least eight violations have occurred during this time.
Here are a few examples of the many:
Feb. 5, 2019: Student-athlete received payment from an owner of a private residence to work on three occasions and was compensated above the going rate for the work that was completed.
May 30, 2019: Sport staff provided a meal and per diem for the same meal to student-athletes.
May 31, 2019: Sport student worker allowed two high school coaches to stay at his home while on campus attending Clemson’s high school coaching clinic.
