    Default Gheenoe middle seat question.......

I wanna do away with the useless middle seat/compartment on my 13' gheenoe. Anybody done this? Any tips or things I should know before I start cutting?

Dont cut through the bottom. Did mine with an angle grinder. I cut a few inches above the bottom of the boat around the entire box first. Then with the box out, I went back around and cut as close as I could without puncturing the bottom. Worked pretty good.

Me and mudeagle took the front seat out of one. Cut up the pieces of the bench and glassed them down the center channel to make it a smooth floor. You can get em that way from the factory im guessing it just has a bit of bracing or extra glass to keep it from flexing. Removing the front seat was awesome. I kept life vests in the livewell and spotlight and collapsing paddle. Front had plenty of room then. I just picked up another 13' awhile back. Hopefully I can put some fish in it next week in saltwater

yeah we cut it out with cutoff wheel about a 1/2" from bottom then sanded it down smooth.

Oscillating multi tool, cut close to bottom, then grind flush, fair and paint.

Cut the boat in half at the 6 ft mark and the 8ft mark. Then join the pieces back up and spray some flex seal on the joint.

Boom! 11 ft boat without a middle seat.

Might want to use a screen door for extra support

Hard to cut straight with a cutting torch. Depends on how much flex seal you want to use.

It's more of a compartment than it is a live well, it doesn't have a thru hull plug. It does have a little flip top on it that secured with a bungee cord, you're welcomed to that if it'll work for you

    i'll take one.
mine is a livewell and i broke the lid flipping the boat. I'd like another livewell cover (i do think mine had a little bungee on it for a while?) if possible.

yall can fight over who gets to deal with me.....bc that's apparently a challenge.

    I've got one.

It still has the original bungee cord. I'm keeping it. Just wanted to let you know I knew what you want.
