FYI, try a coated wire weed guard for grass fishing....
They hold up and are more weedless than wire or floro...

I miss the fly..... Ready to teach the kids, that excites me
Might be downsizing for a while and getting back in a poling skiff!

Here’s a crab fly that was tied by Lefty Kreh, per his granddaughter who is selling off his remaining fly fishing and tying gear. Thought you might like to see it as another example.

We'll keep this one going, here are some flies and a few pictures I took while fishing alone recently. It was nice to be on the front of the boat but poling and casting in shallow water with a dog on the boat is pretty challenging.

Putting together a few for a fly swap. Size 4 EP Drum Beater, always a go to for fish in the grass.
The addition of the dubbing ball on the bend helps the rabbit from fouling instead of a traditional mono loop.

Did pretty good on the last series of tides. Those EP crabs are often my go to.

Nice job! That last tide was odd this early in the year, very hit or miss on my flats for which were holding fish. I think this one coming up will be much more consistent.

Saw a few then saw a pile. I'm looking forward to the next set.
