    Default kitchen reno

"In the coming months we will be starting our kitchen remodel. Plans just went into the city as we are tearing down 3 walls to really open things up on the main floor.
For those who have recently gone through a kitchen reno...

What are some things are you extremely happy that you've done in your build and can't live without?

What are some things you regret not doing?

Here is what we are planning to get:

I just went through one and it will take at the least twice as long to finish as you plan. Also be prepared to spend more money than you planned.if you are taking down load bearing walls that’s no easy task.

We did one about 3 years ago. We did 2 sinks and 2 ovens.

The 2 ovens is a must for cooking for large crowds.

The 2 sinks.....they did what I was afraid of. They allowed my wife to pile up twice the dishes.

Oh.. Go with gas for the burners and electric for the stove.

A over head hood was a great addition for us!
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

    Agreed with chess.

Having a hood ducted to the exterior is the single best part of a kitchen. Not smoking up the house while searing meat is the tits.

    Add to the Chess list:
Under cabinet ligting, the biggest fan you can afford for the hood, microwave drawer, double pullout trash cans, and an under counter beverage fridge.
    Go with the 36" range..

Like Charlie said, the biggest vent you can fit in, and get it outside. Recirculating vents are stupid worthless.

I could care less about a pot filler or hanging my shit, build more storage, keeping pans in showroom condition is a pain in the ass.

I did one a couple years ago.

Farm sink, quartz counter tops, refaced cabinets and hardware, new appliances.

    Before

    After
