    Default Primitives

Starting knapping in middle school and picked it back up recently and figured Id make a goal of making arrows and my own bow to hunt with. Points are anything from obsidian, chert/flint, or glass. I used cane/bamboo for shafts, deer sinew for the bindings, turkey feathers and will weatherproof the bindings with pine pitch glue as soon as I get some made.

And by no means am i a pro, Id scarcely consider myself proficient. Go through a lot of material, broken pieces etc just to get a few. More skill to get thinner and bigger pieces take a long time to master but its fun to mess with when Im bored.

How many bud platinums did you have to drink to get the blue one?

Kill a deer with one, and you will harness the spirit of the wild.

The idea that some guy years ago said to him self "I should make tiny spears and take a long stick with a tight string and go shoot dinner with it" just baffles me.

Now you need to take some of the failures and seed some popular arrowhead findin spot . Then watch the local news channel.

When you kill that deer, you need to cook a piece of it over a fire that you built by rubbing sticks together.

Damn impressive work! You've got caveman skills! I can imagine some future anthropologist getting really confused when he gets the carbon dating results back from one of the arrow shafts.

Do you know why cavemen dragged their women around by their hair?

    .
Because if you drag them by their feet, they fill up with mud.

That is very impressive! Think you will have everything ready for this deer season?
