The Doelfin (or however it's spelled) might be a good solution. But, if it's pulling hard I doubt it's from the missing cavatation plate - look from the back or underneath and see if you still have the Steering Torque Tab and that it's whole and not knocked out of position.

I get that but I've had a motor that lost a good chunk of cavitation plate on one side. I used the motor for years and its absence was hardly noticeable.

    your fucked
You could shape a new piece of metal and let it come over the existing (remaining plate) and drill and through bolt it.
The hyro foil thingies most likely will be best bet, but you still wont have a trim tab for steering straight. That tab is your steering alignment piece
I actually have made these missing pieces from JB weld and shaped and painted them before but not the size that you are missing

I have an old 25 2 stroke Yamaha that was missing that much or more on both sides of the cavitation plate, along with missing half of the skeg. It lived a tough life in flooded timber for over 10 years. It didn't pull at all, I'm surprised yours does.

Keep me posted. It only pulls to the right under WOT. I can buy a new trim tab but I ain't got nothing to work with to attach it. This is why I want the piece back. Somebody needs to hang out with us and I bet we find it but it will take more than me. Thanks for posting the Pic Rubberhead*

Look underneath your cavitation plate and see if the steering torque tab is now missing. The cav plate won't cause tiller torque but a missing steering torque tab will for sure. I bet it might be sheered off and the bolt is still up inside the lower unit. I can't see it in the picture Rubberhead posted.

No you need to look at the pic as the place the bolt goes in is gone.

Have you looked into a used lower unit or housing?

If I had scuba gear I'd give you a hand trying to find the back end of that lower unit.....that sucks. I'm scratching my head wondering what you hit to do that. Maybe the prop grabbed a big stick and jammed it into the steering torque tab and broke it all off?
