Default How Much Would You Pay...

for heirloom-quality leather goods, specifically wallets? Some of the prices I'm finding for bespoke, hand stitched items are pushing $600 for coat wallets, 4-500 for billfolds 3-400 for money clip style front pocket wallets. This doesn't include exotics like gator and ostrich. I have a Bison front pocket wallet with a money clip from Orvis that my mom gave me as a Christmas gift a few years back and it's nice enough, but for $80, I'm almost certain it was made overseas, machine-stitched and the grain marks on the hide may be stamped and not genuine. After seeing the prices people are willing to pay for cast iron and hand carved decoys, etcI was just curious about this.

I have a leather vest from Cherokee. I wouldn't sell it for nothing.

No idea. I have some eye-talian leather things my wife got me while she was over there. They're real nice.

Heirloom snake skin belts at the flea market are fetching record prices these days.

I have an old Filson. I cannot see myself buying one that cost anymore than that.

    Skinner,
How well do you like that front pocket style wallet?

I’ve been eyeballing then recently. My current wallet is getting thicker than I really want in my backpocket and I’m thinking the smaller front pocket style might force me to lose some of the crap I carry

DC, all I carry is a front pocket wallet. Eliminates a lot of junk. Helps my back (Chiropractor said one of the worst things you can do is sit on a wallet all day), etc etc. I recommend them.

My kids got me a wallet from this company. It’s made from elephant hide. Tough as nails and surprisingly soft. Had it for 3 years now and still looks new. Surprisingly affordable

The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.

I have a front pocket wallet, bought it from Buffalo Jackson. I think it was around $40 - $50. Real leather and I THINK it's made in the US. I've had it for years now, still functions like new.

If I ever needed another wallet, $100 would be my absolute top end, no way I'd spend $600 on one ... and I've made some stupid purchases in my day.
