Default Welcome New Sponsor Tekton Gamecalls

Please welcome new Sponsor, Tekton Game Calls to the site!

My name is Joey D’Amico and I live with my wife and daughter in Charleston SC. I grew up in southern Maryland in Calvert County, which is between the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay. I would join my father and his friends on many occasions in the field and on the water but it wasn’t until after college when I really began to be invested in the outdoors. I knew that when I spent more time hunting, especially waterfowl hunting, I wanted to make goals of carving my own decoys, training my own dog, turning my own calls, building my own boat, and eventually buying/building my own place.

As I moved on from the golf business, where I was a PGA professional for 15 years, I moved into residential contracting. This has gotten me more time with the family and in the shop for wood working and wood turning.

I’ve been refining my calls since late in 2015. Most of the calls I build are duck calls but I also make goose calls, turkey trumpets and deer grunts.

I have two single reed call models that I can modify for different volume as well as turn into a double reed. Currently finishing up a run of cherry and African black wood calls as well as launching a website. I also build custom calls for folks who have a special blank or looking for engraving.

If anyone is looking for help with their calling or would like to come by my shop, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you to all the members who have supported me by buying calls from me and also who helped me refine my calls over the last few years.

To the other SCDucks members who build calls here in South Carolina, I hope we can all bring a bigger interest in the history, art, craftsmanship, and function of a call and help each other grow.

I will always be working to improve my calls so that you too can enjoy your time in the field.

    Thanks and God bless,

    Joey

Great looking work Joey- what is the significance of the Tekton name and are you still building houses?

Tekton is the Greek word for craftsman or artisan that was used in the Bible.

Yes still building, remodeling, and raising houses in Charleston. We have a little commercial work as well.
