You're going down for a week. What difference does it make if the bite has been decent? Go fishing. You might be there just as the next bite cranks up. Think about it. For every "bite", somebody was there when it started to heat up.

Fish eat daily, from the time they are born til the day they die

    “The bite” is a myth

I have to believe it is.

Seems really silly (or arrogant) to think that just because you (or your buddy) went fishing and didn’t catch anything, that the fish simply decided to fast that day for religious purposes.

Much more likely that you showed up at the wrong time on that particular day.

Fish the tide change. If mullet are in the creek, get them. Or shrimp. A buddy has been tearing up everything at sunset and sunrise no matter the tide.

I’d offer to let you ride with us to pull on the bottom but will be in the Keys then.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

We went Friday, killed it until 1:30 then the wind started blowing 20, seas came up to 3-4 at 4 seconds. Then we hit the squall line and had the fun of running through all the lightning. Let me know next time you’re down, you can ride.

I thought about reaching out the last week..

I drank beers and watched yall run in my binoculars,

SpellCheck was out there one morning and it was flat as a flitter, then the wind picked up and it appeared to become dicey AF..

Yeah, we were 30 off when it came up but we were killing fish. Pulling an anchor in those seas with 400’ of rode out is a lot of fun. We stopped 11 miles out because we thought it was moving NW. that damn thing was moving slow and growing, we just said screw it faster the target, harder to hit.

I fished for 5 hrs yesterday and caught 1 flounder and had one small flounder follow my bait to boat. Water was muddy. I was in icw behind Sullivan’s and iop. I’m blaming it on boat traffic though. People don’t understand slow no wake apparently

fishing has been slow this summer. Some decent keeper flounder being caught at Gtown jetties. Pawleys has lots of throwbacks.
