and stay with them until they leave. I did see several large settlements paid out from "bad shoplifting stops" and that is what drives the
lax policy. Theft (shrink) is a deduction on the P&L also......no biggie
Lowe’s doesn’t play around. Well at least the one on harbison blvd doesn’t. I have seen on 2 occasions employees chasing and cornering people in the parking lot for theft.

The hardware store across from me doesn't play. I have seen the owners and employees stopping shoplifting multiple times.

exactly why they got paid. Dumbass Loss Prevention kids stop and detain (take the accused back to the LP office) and refuse to let them leave
and they have nothing on them when the cops arrive because they dumped it right before the stop. $10k immediately without court for those that
make noise but most just leave and don't push it.
The next time the old guy at Walmart wants to check your receipt at the door, tell him to piss off and just keep walking and hope
they detain you. Its not worth it to the big retailers anymore. We were allowed to have a 1% to 2% budgeted shrink per year which is normal.
My Savannah store and Orangeburg stores consistently ran 9% and higher due to crooked employees working with the shoplifters.

lot of stores are like that but its against policy and they would get fired if something goes wrong.

Also happened in Memphis on the 4th. They started off by throwing large firecrackers at families gathered to watch the show. Then they randomly started jumping men and punching women in the face.

Simple solution to me. Hire brothers in specific areas to enforce security. Pay them well and respect them. Brothers know well about fk’n with the wrong bruh. Go to a convenience store in ground zero Atlanta and see who’s holding it down. I can’t help ya if the crowds make you uncomfortable.
Btw, you won't hear me apologize often, so you may want to put that in your sigfile. ~Mergie

I'm not sure about the masses trying to incite or paying certain masses. But corporate America is scared to tell anyone no. Basically no matter what you are doing.

Its more of a reaction. People have figured how to take advantage of the broken system. You will see more of it until these corporate stores start to say "enough". Which in this period of social media will take a while.

Funny you bring up Lowe's. My boss and I were at Lowe's in Greenville last week checking out and watched a dude walk through the door, alarms a'blazin' with an armload of Milwaukee power tools and my boss yells out "hey, that guy's stealing that stuff!" and nobody even looked up. The cashier said they weren't allowed to try to stop shoplifters. My boss, being a smart ass, said he should just walk out with our stuff and see what happened. The cashier, no shit, says "well, I've already ran your card, but if you want to go to the service desk they can give you a refund." He just laughed as he signed the receipt.

The other day my Woman and I went to Walmart to get one of them ozark coolers because that’s what her dad wanted for Father’s Day. We entered through the garden department and I notice (nothing out of the ordinary) one of the employees fooling around, laughing and cutting up with what seemed to be a friend visiting while he was at work, all the while people were coming and going freely. Well we proceeded to get the cooler and when I checked out I just through the receipt and the change in the cooler. Upon exit the fine employee had resumed his duty and asked to see my receipt, out of pure curiosity and remembering how he didn’t seem to check anyone else’s receipt, I looked him dead in the eyes and said “No.” he averted his eyes, raised both hands, took a step back and said “okay, have a nice day.” My fiancé being the woman she is assured him we had our receipt and showed it to him. So my question is, assuming he acted within policy, what is the point in having them stand there asking for receipts?
A fish bites 2 times a day, right before I get to the water, and as soon as my boat gets back on the trailer.

So I can get $10,000 for spending an hour or so in WalMart’s Loss Prevention room. Sign me up. Anyone else I’d feel bad about, but FUCK Walmart. And it’s little friend Dollar General too.

there was a gang of middle aged white women in Va Beach a few years ago that went into the TJ Maxx and Marshals, etc
and set them up for bad shoplifting lawsuits.
Ie; bring an old dress from home into the store inside your purse. Hang it on a rack and then come back later and take it, making sure
    an employee is watching.
This is one of about 10 things they were doing.

If they detain you against your will and you didn't steal anything. They are not LEO
Pro Tip - get them to lay their hands on you
