I was preconditioned to prefer summer because they let us out of school. It took me a long while to finally realize I much prefer fall, winter and spring. We have shirt sleeve weather until after Christmas, a short period of possible freezing temperatures, then crank into spring. I just wish the daylight lasted longer in the colder months. Screw this scorching muggy heat that makes me have to worry about dying of heat stroke just to get anything done outside.

I was a cranky son of a bitch when I lived in SC during the summer. I hate the humidity and sweating as soon as I walk outside of the house. Moved to the mountains and don't mind it too much anymore. Hard to complain when most days are in the 70's. I'll still take fall/winter for hunting and skiing over anything in the summer though.

That period where I hung up my golf clubs the hardest times were dropping the kids off at the club mid morning, be it the pool or tennis, and smelling the fresh cut bermuda.. I love it. That and an outboard in the early morning hours putting off somewhere.

It might not seem right, but I loathe Widespread. That song though, I like it.

When you're on the ramp at 3pm with bunker gear on. How maintenance does it, i will never know.

“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”

After growing up changing a thousand tires on irrigation systems in tall green corn during 100 degree days with 90+% humidity, heat just isn't a big deal. I have been amused by all the Charleston and Columbia folks up here the last 2 weeks whining about how cold the lake is...

You don't have the genes to be a yankee. You would do fine in the Congo.
