    Default Birds getting as dumb as people

    4 window strikes already today. Averaging about 3 per day for the last 2 months. I realize that many are just yearling dummies, but this is out of proportion to years past. Way out of proportion. Let's hope the blackducks decide to commit suicide this fall...

    My parent's house has a big pyracanthia tree. We don't see them anymore, but when I was a kid during spring migration those cedar waxwings would get drunk on the pyracanthia berries and it was not uncommon to have 10 or 20 of them under our sunporch windows.
