Jack fish are one of the best eating freshwater fish that’s we have in my opinion. Good catching tooth!

Pics look like a pond I know and love north of Camden. Is that the pond/lake I’m thinking it is?

I know which one you're talking about, it's not that one though. That particular one that you're talking about has had some stanky big bass pulled out of it over the years, some years back they tightened up even more on who can fish it.

Growing up in Marlboro county I saw a many caught in mill ponds. Seen a few old men specifically fishing for them in creeks no wider than a car, usually a piece of white belly meat from another fish, twitched around on a cane pole.

I thought there wasn’t enough stick ups showing, but my eyes suck now, so I wasn’t sure. I have been blessed to have had access from three or four landowners up there my entire life. I’ve caught several over 8 and one 10.3 out of there. Years 3-7 after the dam repair and restocking were freaking bass fishing utopia with virtually nonstop 1.5-4lb action with the occasional 8+ thrown in for good measure. Then there was the once a year “couldn’t do shit with him” fight that resulted in lifetime legend stories of the one they got away. Damn...might be what I miss most about living in Camden!

I was in my 20s the last time I fished it, JABs cousin/uncle lived on the back of it before he moved to 2ths island. I still have a couple buddies that live up there.. it's a pretty place. 2ths ponds are pretty too.

I used to eat Jackfish a long time ago. Until one day this old guy tells me that they have a lot of worms. He told me to clean one and set it on a plate, in the fridge, overnight. The next morning it looked like someone cut thousands of 1/4" white threads and surrounded the fish with them. Never again.

Oh...and damn nice fish, fellas! I'd love to have a place to catch bass like that. Bass fishing is what I miss the most about living in south GA.

My grandparents also lived on the smaller pond below it that was pretty sporty as well. I can't remember the name of that one though...

In the house with the great room over looking the pond, I think.. my mom's sister lives in that house now. I've fished a ton in those three small ponds, the first one is hidden better. It like the rest would have a gator slip into it every now and again.. one little booger when I was young was heck on a topwater plug
