    Default Fort Lauderdale

If you could get paid to live there for three years, would you?

Can a 22’ bayboat be enough?

Yes. I’m there regularly. So much fishing. Crowded as hell but the fishing upside might out way the negatives.

As far as the boat goes yes that plenty of boat to fish down there. Offshore is not so offshore and inshore is in every direction. Now you’ll be surrounded by sport fishers and 50 foot center consoles but for fishing you’d be fine.

Fort Lauderdale is just a possibility. I’m in the year of unknown. The last year of a tour is just a guessing game. You can shape it but nothing is certain until you have the papers.

I would go in a heartbeat. Not saying I'd want to stay there for more than a couple years, but I'd go for the fishing. It would be a big change from Beaufort though if that's where you're at. A 22' bay boat would be fine. I know Florida Sportsman on Youtube has done a lot of episodes out of there for everything. Sailfish, dolphin, tarpon, monster snook, etc. Themulletrun is another guy to check out on the tube. He fishes and lives in FTL, bump trolls mullet in the canals and seems to have it figured out. Easy trips to the Everglades and SWFL from there too.

Have lived east of a1a twice. Tough place to stay single if you’re married. Our trips were pre-children...that was one of several reasons we came home and have never looked back. Great fishing for sure, but so so for family life. JMHO

Throw on a campaign cover and go to the drill field.

But for real, there are much worse places, and much better places(Beaufort being one of them) to get stuck for a few years. I wouldn't be mad about it.

I have a cousin that grew up in Columbia. Moved to DC a year ago and her husband just got a job in Fort Lauderdale, so they just moved down there. They have a 2yo and one in the oven.

Not sure you could pay me enough. And I guess what I'm saying is I'll let you know in a few months what they say about it.

This is just one course of action (COA) Atlanta, Columbia SC, Fort Lauderdale all fall into that realm. For this COA...

I would stay in Beaufort forever but this could help me get back here.
