    Default TABLE SAWS

Was looking at the Shop Fox W1837 but am leaning toward the Grizzly G0771Z. I know Shop Fox is a Grizzly brand.

Any others I should consider in that price range?

I like the fact the top of the Grizzly is 100% cast whereas the Shop Fox has stamped wings.

I got a portable Bosch. But I don’t build furniture, just the box it goes in.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    Thanks - will do.

This one is easily converted to a Biesemeyer if I decide to do that later. Reviews say the fence on this one is good for that price point. It will be a huge improvement over my current setup, which is a 20yo $300 Craftsman.

My Mom's got a Delta X5 Contractor with a Biesemeyer fence and extension table. Oddly enough, it's my mothers commercial shop as she's a pro at fine cabinetry. I've been fortunate enough to learn a little and thus use her shop. I hope to absorb a fraction of her knowledge and skill before it's too late. Funny how in my 20's I could care less about being around the art. Now I wish I would have taken the time to ask more questions!

Get at least a 3hp machine too. Those 1.75hp saws are weak when you start feeding the harder woods. If you can find a 5hp 1ph, buy it even if it’s a bit more. Low power = kick back.
