    Default Trout Stocking Regulations

I've try to search DNR for regulations on this but have come up empty.

In my neighborhood we have a river with a paved path all the way down it. Every time i walk it, i think "It would be fun if we stocked some trouth in here during the colder months".

    Would that be legal?

I believe it is illegal to introduce any fish to public waters

Thats what i was thinking. Logically, stocking rainbows in this stream is no different than stocking rainbows in the chattooga. Non-native species being introduced etc.

You'd do better to call over to the Clemson DNR office and speak with Dan Rankin, provided he's still around. Nice fella, have got some good info from him over the years but haven't spoken with him in quite some time.

The state owns the river. The answer will be no.
