Default What do y'all use to sharpen knives

Kitchen gadgets just dont cut it. My long gone Buck stone would embarrass a safety razor. The 4 blade whisker shavers are better. So, what do y'all use? All my filet, pocket and skinning knives need edges worked up. Or do y'all pay someone to do it?

Whetstone and diamond rod or steel for touchup

300, 500, 1000, 3000, 5000 grit whet stones. Finish it off with polish on the backside of a cardboard cereal box.

Also have a chefs choice I like for a quick sharpening job.

I can get a case knife or good buck knife hair popping sharp on a diamond stone. I’ve got a Benchmade and Kershaw that I cant seem to do much with on a stone but those are much harder steels from my understanding. I picked up a warthog on here the other day, sending the benchmade back for factory sharpening and going to see if the warthog will help keep it sharp from here on out.

The little Rada sharpeners do a great job for maintaining an edge. I just run my knives thru it about every other time that I use them and I never have dull knives.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

EZE lap diamond stones, 4 grit sizes but rarely let them get dull enough to use the coarser grits

Worksharp here, also. Couldn't sharpen a knife too good before, but now everyone wants me to sharpen theirs.
