You apparently haven’t caught many of either.... it’s like mangos and persimmons, completely different

It’s really not too different. Yes wahoo is better, but king isn’t bad or far from it. And yes they are closely related

How to make a king mackerel taste good: cut small strips of king mackerel belly meat and troll it behind a Clark's spoon or Gotcha plug in the middle of a school of Spanish mackerel.

Seriously, if it's fresh just fillet it, salt & pepper and grill skin side down with a little butter.

If it's not day-old or less, cut into 1-2" chunks, coat with Hot-Sauce, batter and fry - half corn-meal, half flour. Enjoy.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

Ended up doing chucks battered and fried in the cast iron skillet. Turned out just fine along with our low country boil.

Caught a bunch down in PCB few years back, took my vacuum sealer just for this purpose .

Brought some back fresh and made smoked fish dip, very good.

Honestly ones I froze , was told to never freeze king Mack’s, tried same thing and just not as good .

Actually ate some chunks of the smoked before I made the fish dip and really not bad but by NO MEANS is this the same as WAHOO. However said this must eat at Capt D’s And think that is fresh fish
