Search function is your friend. It's been discussed a fair amount.

I'm a more fan of the mid Keys, but if Key West is your choice, spend the money to go to the Marquesas and/or the Dry Tortugas for at least a day. Most folks miss traveling to them, and to me it's two of the cooler places to see down in Monroe County. Fort Jefferson is one of the largest brick buildings in the world..

Holler at me when you come down. Maybe we can meet up and fish 1 morning.

Hurricane Hole or Pinchy Crab to eat. Go to 5 Brothers for a great Cuban mix sandwich. Sunset Pier a little before the sun goes down. Whatever bar calls your name on Duval. Conch train tour. Dry Tortugas. Too many fishing spots to choose. Snorkel the Tortugas or Ft Zachary Taylor.

"Mellow Ventures" is a great outfit just for the paddleboarding, snorkeling, take you to a island/beach kinda by yourself, I guess they say eco tours type company (not for fishing). Fished with "Dream Catcher" charters...overall very well run outfit. Fishing was not outstanding but they were super professional. Felt like maybe I could find a more local type guide to really put us on fish, but also another guide with them may have been different..
Anyway, you can find plenty of weird people here in SC. Go and enjoy yourself. Garbo's Grill (truck) was my lunch stop for a different taco and beers most days before heading wherever. No restaurant stuck out to me aside from there, even the "fine dining" type places. More of sit outside with cold beer and something decent and enjoy.
    Ohh and yes, Lobster!

Our friend has a house in KW and we go every year and sometimes twice a year.
Food is great everywhere, beer is always cold and the water is absolutely beautiful. I’ll be down for 11 days in July and will spend less than if I went to Myrtle Beach for a week

What PT said. The short season for lobster is a crazy time to be down there. Swim fins and mask will get you all of the lobster you can legally keep in short order and you can do it from a small, very small, open boat. They also have pretty cool campgrounds down there too worth looking into. MG
